The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is currently accepting applications for the position of University Professor of of epistemology and methodology of artistic production at the Institute for Art Theory and Cultural Studies according to § 99 of the Universities Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002), with a 5 years term, starting in October 2011.
Among several requests, candidates will hold a degree in the field from an Austrian university, equivalent foreign university or a qualification that may be considered equivalent, possess excellent academic qualification in the field of research and teaching of art as mode of knowledge-production and discursive practice, have coordination skills concerning the organisation of events and publications, be able to set up a long-term programme for innovative fundamental research within the field of epistemology and methodology of art (comprising the following fields of activity: artistic knowledge, artistic research, art/science-intersections amongst others).
The successful apllicant will hold the chair of the field of research "Kunst-Wissen", design, development and coordination of research projects within the field of epistemology and methodology of art, raise third-party funds for the field of research, teaching at least 6 units a week, among other activities.

Applications are open for 3rd Edition of the INOV-ART internship programme
The 3rd edition of INOV-ART will award 150 scholarships for the completion of international professional internships in the following areas and respective number of vacancies: Architecture and Urbanism (17); Performing Arts (22); Visual Arts (17); Cinema and

INOV-ART is intended for young people between 18 and 30 years old who have been residing in Portugal for over 1 year by the time they apply, who are unemployed, looking for their first job or for a new job. The candidates must possess proven qualifications in the fields of the arts and culture that they are applying to, attested by a higher education diploma, or a specialised artistic education certificate and proven experience.
Joint applications resulting from a prior agreement established between candidates and placement organisations may be submited.
Internships are expected to last between three and six months, with abroad ones being carried out between July and December 2011. The selected candidates will receive financial support, health insurance during the period of internship abroad (when applicable) and personal accident insurance covering all seminar days, the internship abroad and days spent travelling.
The deadline for applying to the 3rd edition of INOV-ART is April 15, 2011 (at 16:59:59h local time in mainland Portugal).

The Moore College of Art & Design, Philadelphia, PA., is seeking for a Director/Chief Curator for its galleries.
The position will include supporting the mission and role of the institution as a cultural reference, by providing a forum for exploring contemporary art and ideas, enriching the artistic and intellectual spirit of the college and of the Greater Philadelphia community and beyond.
Educational programs for all ages, organizing exhibitions and offering insights into the work of established and emerging artists and designers, and providing the educational resources for a career in art & design, as well as overseeing the organization of free public events and programs that highlight Moore as a gathering place for those wishing to learn, express and share their creativity, are part of the functions attributed to the Gallery Director/Chief Curator.
He/she will also supervise a staff of two full-time staff as well as part-time installers, student interns, work study students, and serve as an active member of the President’s Senior Management Team.

California Institute of the Arts seeks Contemporary Art Historian
The California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is seeking a candidate for the position of Contemporary Art Historian/Faculty on a full-time regular basis, starting Fall 2011.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in general art history and theory, as well as courses in their area of specialization and supervise independent study projects.
A considerable record of publication, aptitude to address a range of artistic media and diverse student interests, and the ability to teach modern and contemporary art history in an art school context is a must. Participating in other program duties and committee work will make part of the assignments.
College level teaching experience required. Include CV (Curriculum Vitae), letter of application (include teaching philosophy), names and addresses of 3 references, writing samples, supporting materials, and SASE only if return of materials is necessary. Brief course proposals are encouraged.

With 23 years of existance, Artspace is a leading contemporary art project that usually presents eight exhibitions every year, as well as performances and public programmes.
Recent exhibitions and projects has featured works by Ann Veronica Janssens, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz, Dan Arps, Daniel Knorr, Francis Alÿs, Harun Farocki, Kate Newby, Kim Beom, Koki Tanaka, Layla Rudneva-Mackay, Liam Gillick, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Sean Kerr, Superflex, Shigeyuki Kihara and Tehching Hsieh.
During its history, seven directors have shared their experience and perspective on contemporary art, contributing to the continuous development of this project.
Now Artspace is seeking for a new Director for a three year period starting on April 2011.
With required experience as a curator or initiator of art projects, the successful applicant will own an in-depth knowledge of contemporary practice, strong networks and sector support, good editorial skills, and preferably will hold a post-graduate qualification in a relevant field.
The Director oversees a small team of staff and volunteers, and establishes parterships with cultural and funding agencies, actively encouraging and contributing to the development of the gallery through patronage contacts and public initiatives.
A strategic plan is set by the Board of Trustees, to whom the Director reports.
